MCM London Comic Con Haul

YOOOOOOOOOOOOO! So ya boi went to MCM London Comic Con this weekend and spend an embarrassing amount of money on anime merch. Here's what I got:

First thing I wanna quickly show are these signed pieces by the bois Connor and Joey from Trash Taste (Garnt wasn't there that day). I literally went to the episode where they talked about their anime 3x3, printed them out and had them sign it (will do a seperate blog in the future cuz I got a funny story from that encounter).

Now to jump into the things I bought. I've always wanted to get Kotobukiya's ARTFXJ line of Yugioh figures/statues cuz I genuinely think these are the best looking and highest quality Yugioh statues you can get your hands on. Thankfully I managed to find the latest releases of Yami Yugi and Kaiba, which are the 1/7 Duel with Destiny versions. I've wanted both of these since I saw them come out and it feels unreal to finally have my hands on em. Definitely prefer these latest versions compared to the first releases of Yami Yugi and Kaiba, which I still love, but the dynamic poses and extra details on the new ones make them superior in my book. 

 

Seeing Atem with the eye on his forehead is AWESOME considering he only activated it when he wants to be a total badass and do some damage. Remember that scene where he shattered Pegasus's wine glass after defeating ghost/gay clown Kaiba and the scene where he confronts Yami Marik after the brief "fight" he had with possessed Tea? Phenomenal scenes! 

 

As for the Kaiba statue, seeing him smile is something that doesn't happen often, but when it does it's always a noteworthy moment. This victorious pose with his fist in the air is undoubtedly the one he makes after he summons Obelisk in the Battle City semi-finals and proclaims himself as the new Duel King.

 

I also saw Jaden and Yusei, which I obviously wanted too, but they were £300 each, which is like $380. Yeeeeeah. That's almost how much I spent in total so I couldn't just come back home with 1 statue💀(unless it was Zane, but unfortunately a Hell Kaiser one doesn't exist yet). I also saw that newly released massive Slifer statue, but that bad boy was £260/$330 soooo yeah. Big Bruh moment. 

 

The last statue I got is a Super Saiyan 3 Goku from Figurearts ZERO in the EXTRA BATTLE series, which focuses on showing the character's best moment. Honestly, I'd agree that the Dragon Fist Explosion from movie 13 is Ssj 3 Goku's hypest moment, considering I had the attack move as my phone's lock screen for a solid year at one point. Super happy with the way Goku's sculpt is defined and obviously the golden roaring dragon is an incredible piece. Ssj 3 Goku is my favourite form of the character (not counting Drip Goku) so it feels awesome to have his best moment captured perfectly.

Back to the Yugioh stuff lol. I got a pack of Ghost From the Past, the 2nd Haunting. I was honestly shocked that there are cards printed here from the manga and anime. I never thought I'd see Bandit Keith's machines from Yugioh R, but I was pleasantly surprised to find one in there. Also appreciate them bringing more anime Jim Cook and manga Kalin/Kiryu cards! Printing anime and manga exclusive cards is the main thing I'm looking forward to in Yugioh products nowadays as I'm trying to complete more and more anime/manga accurate character decks.

I also got a Hidden Arsenal chapter 1. I know it's not necessarily a good set and I already bought the main cards I wanted from there individually (main one being the Ultra Rare Duel Terminal Flame Wingman, which looks amazing). The reason I bought it in person was that I can actually chose the promo and I saw the one that had Armed Dragon, the Armored Dragon, which is a card I need for my Chazz manga deck and one that was previously an ocg jump exclusive. Really glad to have it. On top of that I got the Naturia dice, which is my favourite of the Duel Terminal lore archetypes so I lucked out there too.

The final thing I got was this cool looking binder with the Egyptian god cards. I'm more of a "slide your cards from the top rather than from the side" kinda guy when it comes to binders, but I couldn't pass up on that design.
