No, I'm not talking about the Highschool Musical song (which is admittedly great). I'm talking 'bout Amazon Prime's best (and arguably only good) show coming back with season 3 on June 3rd. Check out the trailer right here if you missed it.
Honestly, I'm not much of a live action series guy #TeamWeeb, buuuuuut The Boys is a rare exception because I gave it a shot when it came out and that final scene of episode 1 got me full on hooked. The Passanger by Iggy Pop is one of favourite songs of all time and seeing it used that way was marvellous. Similar story with season 2's first episode and Pressure by Billy Joel so I'm expecting another hard slapping banger in the first episode of season 3.
I greatly enjoyed season 2, but was disappointed by the reveal of the "main villain" being that politician chick who was in the show for a grand total of like 2 minutes. Wow what a shock, that's craaazy😑 This is shy I'm lowkey hesitant to invest too many of my hype points into the story going forward. Although, even if the story is on a decline, the characters are easily gonna be able to carry the show. Homelander in particular is the most exciting one to invest screen time in. There are very few scenes with him that feel unnecessary, as he acts progressively more unhinged. Judging from the trailer, that behavioural pattern is only gonna increase, which I'm 1000% on board with.

Speaking of reveals from the trailer, BROOOOOOOOOOOO. A serum that makes you a Supe for 24 hours?!?! Now that's insane. Looks like we might have a full on brawl between Homelander and Butcher with some lazer eyesight sprinkled on top. I doubt this would be the last season considering what a money cow the show has become for Amazon, so even if a fight like that was to occur, it's unlikely someone will bite the dust. Still tho, ya boi wants to see that. No holds barred! It's gonna be cool to see what determines the kind of power everyone gets from the serum. Would it be fixed per character or differ depending on the type of serum? A lotta creative potential there. It's also interesting on a more philosophical level, where taking it to fight the Supes could make or break the group's ideology. Would using it be a betrayal to their cause and everything they stood and fought for or the tool they need to bring their goal into fruition and finally put an end to it? The age old debate of "am I different that you if I stoop down to your level?". Does the end justify the means?
Anywaaaaay, another thing I wanna point out is the series being pretty memeable. I know Giancarlo Esposito was the director of the company or whatever, but all I can see him now as are the I'm acting and We're not the same memes. Can't wait for this dude's zoomed in facial expressions to be peak meme material.

Speaking of memes, the wild card in this season seems to be Soulja Boy... I mean Soldier Boy. No idea what this character's all about but people are hyping him up so he's something to look out for. I just need to hear him say Youuuuuu and start cranking it😂
