YOOOOOOO! Welcome to the first of hopefully many quarterly blog posts, where I'll be taking a look at the upcoming season's anime and seeing if there's anything interesting to watch. That said, I prefer watching series that are already finished as I'm not a fan of the weekly release model at all, so anything I say I'm gonna watch is probably gonna get watched towards the end of the season, when it's fully released. I won't list every single anime, but will address the top 10 and anything else that catches my eye or peaks my interest. Alright, LET'S GET INTO IT!
First we got Devil is a part-timer season 2. Meh, I saw season 1 back when it came out and it was honestly nothing special. The gag of Satan working at McDonalds got old by like episode 2. Wasn't horrible or anything, but not interesting enough to make me watch season 2. Rent a girlfriend season 2, aka Gigguk's anime of the year. Haven't seen season 1 as I generally tend to avoid romance shows like the plague. If I ever watch it, it's gonna be years from now lol. Overlord season 4. BRUH. Madhouse... c’mon man, you still making this? Season 1 was a 6/10 on a good day and seeing those disgusting looking cgi goat demons in season 3 made me lose any and all interest in the series. Pass.
Made in Abyss: The Golden City and the Scorching Sun. Hmmm. Ok hear me out. A few years ago, I watched the first 4 episodes of season 1 and dropped it cuz I got bored. However, for some reason the concept of going deeper and deeper into the abyss always stuck around in my mind. Maybe it's cuz I'm currently playing Dark Souls and am making my way through the dlc after beating the Four Kings. This idea of walking on, through and into the abyss has become more and more fascinating to me as time progresses. I think I'm gonna pick Made in Abyss back up, catch up and check out this new season. We found our first anime Imma watch lol.

Danmachi season 4...wait what's going on here? Why are the top 5 most popular summer anime all sequels? Hmmm. Summer's not looking too good ngl. Anyway, I've seen season 1 of Danmachi and I think the biggest highlight are the character designs. They're not out of this world unique, but are still enjoyable nonetheless. I had a fun time with it, but would need to catch up before watching season 4, which ain't happening any time soon. Finally! Yofukashi No Uta is the first non-sequel so far... oh wait it's a vampire show😑 I'm usually not a fan of these, but the animation looks to be a highlight so I might check it out if I'm bored and have nothing better to do (which is never the case, but who knows).
From what I've heard about Classroom of the Elite, it's a notable "smart anime". This has me both intrigued and concerned as I hope it's the enjoyable type of smart anime like Death Note, Code Geass or Dr. Stone instead of the pretentious type like Evangelion. Haven't seen season 1, but I am interested so there's a high likelihood I'll get to it.
When will Ayumy Make His Move? Don't know. Won't find out.
Mamahaha no Tsurego ga Motokano datta... middle school romance? BRUH. Who genuinely plans on watching this to the point where it's in the top 10 most popular? This summer's kinda wack man. The word "mamahaha" in the title did get a chuckle outta me tho😂 Finally, the last of the top ten... takes a deep breath My Isekai Life: I Gained a Second Character Class and Became the Strongest Sage in the World. Can you guess this is a light novel adaptation lol. These days when I even see an isekai tag I yeet myself outta there.
Now to see if there's anything interesting on the more obscure side, outside the top 10.
Isekai Meikyuu de Harem wo. WAIT, WAIT! I know what you're thinking. Didn't I just say I bounce when I see the word Isekai? I sure did, HOWEVER... I also see harem in the title😂 Listen, certain positive keywords outweigh the disturbance caused by negative keywords lmao. In that case harem beats isekai. I honestly don't know if I'm gonna watch this for sure, but there is a BIG BOOBA elf on the cover soooooo I might check it out.

Tokyo Mew Mew New is a pretty clever title. Apart from that, it's an alternate version of the original Tokyo Mew Mew, which I'm aware of because I dig the character designs. I may have seen like 500 anime, but I'm not kidding when I say I haven't seen a single Mahou Shoujo. Tokyo Mew Mew New might just be the first though.
Orient season 2 is something that I'm kiiinda interested in simply because it's a work from Shinobu Ohtaka who was the mangaka behind Magi, which I adore (fr, when is season 3 dropping). That being said, the anime adaptation of Orient seemed kinda lacklustre from the little I've seen, so I don't have super high hopes, but I may check it out.
Fuuto Tantei is a series I'm willing to watch for the artstyle alone. Something about it makes it look pretty captivating. There is some debate whether or not it's an adaptation of a manga or a live action tv show, but the latter has me intrigued. Additionally, it's tied to the Kamen Rider franchise, which I can't say I have experience with, but I'm willing to make this my first.

Finally, we got KJ File, which has the potential to be good if the kaiju are in animated 2d and not CG, though I highly doubt that's the case.
In conclusion, it seems like this summer is lacking a lot of the heavy hitters I'm waiting for (Bleach and Baki for later on in the year), but I still managed to find some interesting shows to check out. Looks like it's gonna be chill summer, rather than a scorching one. Oh yeah, I didn't mention One Piece Film Red, cuz I know I'll
definitely watch it, but I'll need to fully catch up to One Piece first lol. Anyone else excited for this summer's anime line-up? Lateeeeer 🌊
